Donald Trump, a former US leader, has announced his third presidential bid, to recapture the White House after losing an election.

"I am announcing my candidacy for president of the United States," Trump, 76, said, flanked by massive American flags.

The speech is about more than an hour, a mix of boasts about his presidential record, and also Trump attacks on Joe Biden's presidency.

The official filing announcement from Trump comes after just a week after the 2022 midterm elections.

Trump said America's comeback starts right now,"  Trump claimed, "Your country is being destroyed before your eyes."

The dark vision hearkened back to Trump's inauguration speech of a country suffering "American carnage" and in need of him to fix it.

The black vision harkened back to Trump's induction speech of a country experiencing" American holocaust" and in need of him to fix it.

Trump sets up a potential rematch against the US President.  Joe Biden,  will be turning 80 on Sunday.

Trump said in his speech that he intends to run for reelection in 2024 against Joe Biden.

Candidates backed by former President Donald Trump fared poorly in the midterm elections.
